Welcome to the new and improved Better Paper Project!
Web Site Guidelines
Keep this a safe environment where everyone can feel
comfortable participating. Ask tough questions and respond
respectfully.
BPP participation means working to improve and understanding
that this is a journey, not a destination. Participants in our
online community will be at various levels of accomplishment, but
we all have the common goal of improving our practices and the
practices of our supply chain. In this way, we can all help to
eliminate the negative environmental impacts of magazine
production.
We need your participation to help the magazine industry become
a champion in its environmental practices. What are your ideas,
concerns, successes and obstacles as you investigate
environmentally responsible paper? What events do you attend during
the year? What Webinars would be helpful? Spend a little time
posting questions on forums and commenting on blogs to help the
movement succeed!
Project
Participation
Start by signing up and filling out as complete a Project
Participant Profile as possible. Many of the questions are
industry specific so if they don't seem to apply to you don't
answer them!
You can change your answers and profile picture at any time.
Accurate profile info will help you find colleagues for
collaboration, vendors for your production needs and get updates
from BPP staff on additional environmental options that fit your
specifications.
Your profile photo is going to be re sized and cropped as a
183x183px square, which is useful to bear in mind if you were
planning to upload a rectangular image. Tip: if you don't want to
dig up a picture of yourself (or don't see the point) but want
something more unique than the sticky-note avatar, consider
uploading a picture of your latest magazine cover or business logo
instead.
Remember, this online form is the primary record of your
involvement with the Project, so publications must have a
complete and up-to-date profile to ensure eligibility for bookstore
promotions, awards, etc.
Connections
Browse the Project participant
list to connect with colleagues and explore new
partnerships.
Totally new to the Project? Swing by Frank's or
Keaty's
pages and introduce yourself - we'd love to hear from you!
Invite others
to join the Better Paper Project. The more magazine staff, paper
mill representatives, paper merchants, printers, advertisers and
designers get involved, the greater success we'll have increasing
the availability and reducing the cost of environmental paper.
